POV to Rucker

Would it be better to bring my POV to Rucker before or after WOCS?

Sorry for newbie questions.

I'm doing WOFT, so after BCT will I be able to head home and bring my vehicle down OR do I have to take military arranged travel and go to Rucker immediately?

if you are going to basic, then to WOCS...
you will not be allowed to get your car..
I came from Chicago area, as prior service, and I had to fight to get them to let me drive down, and that was without me going to basic...

Like Nike says, Just Do it!...Its easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission. Besides, your being proactive, setting the example, showing initiative, taking charge, and any other b.s. you can think up to save your bacon when they give you da chops for driving. If all that fails, just tell them your quite used to being an adult and besides your here to operate much more complicated machinery and was just "practicing"!! scouts out!:D

As for the car thing: I would definitely bring it. It will give you a place to stash stuff youi dont want to take with you to 1st WOC. And the WOC 500 is a nice alternative to picking leaves out of rocks for 2 hours.

The bad thing is that you kind of get screwed if you are HS to FS. B CO 1-145 doesn't grant permissive TDY in rout and I don't know of any basic training companies that would give it to you in rout to WOCS. Guys were able to take leave if they could prove enough of a need to the commander, but I would just plan on having your stuff ready to be moved by movers while your already in primary.
