I have my flight Phys. scheduled for Wed. of this coming week for my civ. woft packet. I hear it has to be done in 2 parts though. Just wondering why? What will the 1st part include? Hopefully some of you guys/gals can help shed some light. Thanks for the time.

Part 1 is all your labs, ekg, eye test, hearing, etc. Part II is when you sit down and talk with the flight surgeon and take your anthroprometrics (arm span, sitting height, etc). Somebody else can fill in stuff that I have forgotten to include.

If you are getting it done at a military installation I would guess that you will be completeing your LAB work, X-rays, eyes and ears possibly. Part two is normaly your time with the actual flight surgeon getting the finger, checking to see if you stutter, and can read a comprehensive sentence.

*edited *Doh... looks like I was a bit late in the posting.

I applied as a civ, and had to drive to Ft Sam Houston to get my flight Physical done. There are 2 "parts" lab work, and hands on, but you shouldnt have to go to 2 different places. As I recall, 1 visit and they will do everything that needs doing while you are there.

The other services break it into 2 parts. I got mine done at Ft. Irwin, and it was a 1 day, 1 shot deal.

my army recruiter just told me that we would have to go down to Ft. Benning twice to complete the flight phys., so i was just wondering. thanks for the time..

does anyone have an idea when I will have to take my PT test for a civilian woft packet? will it have to be in my packet or will I take it after BCT?

I did a civilian WOFT packet, and I did not have to take a PT test until I went to Basic training. You will take several there, but the only ones that count are the first one at Reception in order to get into a basic training class, and final one before graduation. The one at reception was a minimum performance PT test, where the DS's didn't allow you to go over your minimum passing numbers. The object was to see if you really could pass the PT test before getting into class. The final one is for real. All of them in between are practice.

so everyone that does not run the 2 mile in time will not be allowed to go to BCT?
I am close but I know I would be able to do it probably half way through BCT. and definitely at the end...

Yes, I'd imagine if you can't make a two mile run in 15:54 (17-21 yr old standards) you won't be allowed into Basic Training, though it seems there are some slipping thru the cracks.
If you can't make that sort of time, from what I understand of WOCC, you might have some further issues when you get down to Rucker.

My $.02, go run some more.

Get someone to Pace you, when you run. Almost anyone can pass a PT test with the mental motivation from another runner.

Just don't let the 'Pacer' have to kick you in the behind...."you may explode on impact.":p

I had a family member go through bct last summer, there was an initial height weight/body fat requirement, and had to be able to run a single mile in 8:30. No two mile requirment for entrance. There was no PT test included with my HSFS WOFT packet either.

The Pinto was known to explode on impact (I know, I used to have one).
Does the Pacer do it, too?
What about the Gremlin?
All fine cars.

You may be correct sir, Vega, Pinto, Pacer...the pacer at least looks like the Pinto:D

The point was he needs a pacer...not a speed racer Pinto.
