First off let me apologize for another AFAST question, I'm sure you all are sick and tired of them. However, I'm completley disturbed by my results. I took the test yesterday and scored a 99. I've studied for months and felt like I was prepared for it. When I got into the test, I realized that it was diffrent than the ARCO study guide. The aircraft were diffrent, the complex movement lines were incosistent, and the cyclic orientation pictures were diffrent. I've been flying on the HH-60 (USAF) for over four years now, with over 1000 hrs. I have four Air Medals and six Aerial Achievment medals. I've been top rated for the past five years. Bla, bla, bla. This score of 99 is bothering me greatly, combined with my age of 31. Honest opinions folks..... Am I competitive? Will they laugh at a 99? Give me the down and dirty. Thank you.

I think some on this board have gotten in with lower scores.
Competitiveness won't be determined until you submit the packet and see how many others are applying. The AFAST is a tool for the selection process and not the deciding factor. Depending on the number of other applicants, and the needs of the Army, you may very well be competitive, you won't know unless you try.
Stop worring about the score! I agree withe Bootch. Just submit your packet with everything you can. You dont know until you do. Dont give up or loose motivation. If you dont get selected then resubmit it agian and agian. I was a FQ-NS the first go with a AFAST of 154. So thats not the deciding factor. Im sure you did the best you could and thats all you can do. Put it behind you and get on with finishing your packet. Good luck!

Kiowa,
I scored a 106, so don't feel bad. I can't even begin to figure out how they score that dam thing. Under "total scores" I had (T 60) and (T 52) I add 60 + 52 and get 112, but they gave me a 106? Who knows!!!!
relax man, i got a 91 and was selecetd on my first attempt.
91.....That's very Impressive McCheese. No wonder C Company didn't fight harder to keep you. Turd.

My class leader in primary scored a 91, and a LT stick buddy of mine from West Poit scored a 98. The LT was one of the sharper individuals that I have had the opportunity of knowing.
The fact is, you qualify. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Just let your record speak for it's self.
BTW...how in the heck do you swing 10 medals in 4 years?

AIM HIGHER, FLY ARMY!
Just kidding KWB!
WOJG(SW), unless you were an AW(NAC) that had the balls to put yourself up for a medal for everything you did, i.e; just showing up to work on time, or you didnt save the Navy a gazillion dollars there isnt any way to get that many medals in the fleet.

Yeah, I hear that. I don't believe in putting yourself up for medals, and never did it. It used to make me sick to see the suck butts that would write and submit their own awards get promoted down the road and make chief, while the hard working guys went unrecognized.
And the rank:medal ratio...I hear the army does that too. You had to be an E7 to get a COM...otherwise it was a NAM. That is pretty stupid if you ask me. Awards should be based on merit, not rank!:wall:
WOJG, yeah aint that that the truth. When I left the Navy to attend WOCS they wounld give me a NAM becuase I was comming to the ARMY to fly. I busted my arse at my squadron and and was one of the top instructors but I guess it just wasnt good enough even for an end of tour. O well. Better off here anyways.
